Chloe knew she was giving up the quiet life when she married Hollywood A-lister, Jason Vanderholt. She expected harassment from paparazzi but not from the writers of Blood Ritual, a television crime drama that brought national attention to a tough case she is trying to solve as a forensic scientist. While she and the rest of the Albuquerque Police Department once collaborated with the show, now relations have gone sour, and details that the police are trying to keep secret in the investigation are cropping up in episodes watched by millions.

If that weren’t enough, everyone in Chloe’s life seems to be going through a rough patch, from her best friend, Lori, who is trying to plan a wedding, to her niece Kyra who is upset about Jason’s choice of television roles, to Jason himself who is inexplicably moody and withdrawn. None of this drama is the type of thing Chloe knows how to resolve.

She is trained to do one thing: hunt down the big bad wolves of the world. But with her connections to fame compromising her work, she may not even be allowed to stay on the case. The clock is ticking as law enforcement agencies across the country try to find a serial killer before he strikes again. Chloe is faced with a choice, to help catch one of the most evil criminals in history, or provide support to the friends and family who have always been there for her. Either way, she feels she might make the mistake of a lifetime.

4 stars: Page decides that this book was very enjoyable
however, it was not catapulted into amazing.

I first heard about this series over on Wattpad, when my guilty pleasure was those celebrity romance books. Seriously- if you ever just need some easy, fun stories to read, head over to Wattpad. Anyway, I read this and I loved it. I felt that it was different to the previous stories I read, and imagine how please I was to find out that it was a series and there was MORE!? Now, here I am, reviewing the third book. You can also have a peak at my interview with the lovely author, Emily!

Throughout this series what I have enjoyed is the relevance Chloe's job in forensics has had in all the books. In this instalment, it once again plays a big part like it did in the previous book, and I always find it very interesting to read about. For me, it also provides a little bit of balance to Chloe's romance with Jason as I think it really establishes her as a strong, independent character who continues to follow her dreams despite whatever happens along the way. It's really refreshing to see, because some celebrity romance books, or just romance books in general tend to forget that a person has a life outside of the relationship. It makes it much more realistic.
Her job in forensics is also really interesting to read about, and gives the series an air of danger and mystery that ties it all together, I think.

Another thing that I enjoy is that this series doesn't try and glamorise the celebrity world or Hollywood itself. You see the good, the bad and the ugly, which prevents it from becoming cliche. In fact, I think it gives the novel much more to explore, such as the strain fame can put on a relationship and the ups and downs that come with anything and everything. At the end of the day, the not-so-pretty aspects of novels are what makes them so real, and I always make a note of that whilst reading... ;)

Chloe is also a very lovely character, as well as Jason. What I like about Chloe though is the fact that she is a little difficult. She doesn't swoon into Jason's arms at first sight, and she has all the insecurities that are perfectly normal to have. She's also very strong, especially with her tough backstory, but like I said, I love that she uses it to then go on to do good. And that she does!

The Hunt For the Big Bad Wolf has an awesome, VERY unexpected twist at the end! I'm not sure you'll get it before its revealed... I certainly didn't! And it also holds a lot of promise for future books! Eeeeeppp! I'm SO excited!! GO READ THIS!
The Hunt for the Big Bad Wolf continues to do an amazing job at perfecting everything I love about the series, complete with a thrilling end!

Since this is an amazing book, here is a giveaway for you to take part in! Good Luck!
