I have gone and bought this book because I want to read it, as well as the fact that I have an army of bloggers looming over me to see my reaction...Hmm... I'm so tempted to see how long I last without being bombarded with tweets if I post that I don't like it on twitter...
Antigoddess: This book, I haven't read yet, but I actually won it in a twitter giveaway! I was so excited when I found out and I can't wait to start reading!
The Enemy: I went to an author event for the first time EVER, and I met Charlie Higson! This book is actually signed but I have yet to read it!  Speak: This is my first book swap ever! I did it with Zoe from Zoe's Book Blog and it was so much fun! I sent her a little note, and she sent one as well, and it's definitely something I want to do again! Thanks Zoe!

Boy Bands VS Book Boyfriends: A Discussion by Rita and Amber

Hello! It’s Rita from Weaving Pages and Amber from The Mile Long Bookshelf, and today we are doing a joint post on Boy Bands VS Book Boyfriends. For this awesome post, Amber shall be writing in purple and I shall be in blue!
Jace [The Mortal Instruments] is mine. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE.HAHAHA! MINE.
Anyway…(I clearly won that) (EXCUSE ME?) (YOU HEARD ME) the idea for this post, all started with a tweet…

This was Amber’s amazing reaction to that tweet (I actually just found out that the tweet you reply to is called the Parent Tweet...O_O):

You are reading correctly. I stated the obvious and there we have it: Jace is SO MUCH BETTER THAN ONE DIRECTION. AND OTHER BOY BANDS IN GENERAL.
Who needs One Direction anyway?
EXACTLY. I COULD LIVE WITHOUT BOY BANDS BUT NOT WITHOUT JACE. OR PEETA. OR FOUR. OR WILL. OR BUTTERFLY. WE HAVE THE SAME MIND...this is scary... Oh and Park from Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell! *slowly backs away since I haven’t read this..* You need to. Also, don’t forget Draco! DRACO. DRACO! Please don’t tell me you Ship Dramione…. Duh, of course not. I ship Dramber. In that case, I won’t disown you….Yet… I SHIP REETA, AND WITA AND JITA (Peeta, Jace and Will) OH, AND ROUR...THAT’S A GREAT SHIP NAME. Well I ship Dramber. And Jamber? That’s Jace and Amber. And Bamberfly, that’s Butterfly and Amber. I SHIP EVERYTHING WITH MYSELF, EVEN COOKIES...and Pringles. Rita was my bridesmaid at my Pringle-y wedding. I ship Ritterfly...YES I WAS BRIDESMAID. HA. We’ve gone really off topic…hehehe..*tumbleweed* *eerie silence*
Since we’ve started going off on Ship rants...we’ll move on...The next phase of this Twitter conversation was me concluding that I would write a book boyfriend bible:

I still ship Jace and Clary. Is that weird? TMI is the only series where you are allowed to go: I SHIP INCEST.. There were signs like that at the premiere….and yes...I SHIP CLACE.
Jace <3 Peeta <3 Butterfly <3 Draco <3 MINE. *cough* *glares at Rita*Let’s not start this again...So you’ve admitted defeat, YAY. NEVER. NOT HAPPENING. NOPE. NEVER. Shush, you know I won. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. MINE. OH REALLY?
Fictional boys are so much better than Harry Styles, just saying. xDI will disown anyone who prefers boy bands… I have also discovered that preferring book boyfriends means you get new followers… Mentioning ‘1D’ in your tweets gets you a lot more followers too...O_O

It actually got to the point where me and Amber were told that we won VIP One Direction Tickets..If I got them, I would sell them on eBay. :)

Now, if they were tickets to LIVE WITH JACE, I would be there like a shot. ME TOO! Err no, the invitations are only sent out to people called Amber, sorry. ;) Jace made an exception for me.. you know, since he’s my book boyfriend. No. YEP. Do you want me to get my Seraph blade or what?!
These “tickets” were actually Spam, so umm...don’t go around accepting One Direction tickets on Twitter, people…

I’ll warn you that it gets weirder and weirder…
This happened:

Since Amber is One Direction’s biggest fan, (NO I’M NOT. I AM FAR FROM IT.) I made sure to let them know:

Hatred. Hatred everywhere.
Also..I’ll just point out that me and Georgia didn’t plot to hire Celaena Sardothien (Who? xD) (An amazing kick-ass assassin from these books that you really have to read) so that she could cut Harry Styles’ hair off. Nope. We’re innocent. I bet you keep Harry’s hair. RARRY. I ship you and Harry now, k? YOU DID NOT JUST GO THERE (I did *finger snap*)...hmmm...I SHIP ZAMBER. Okay? You and Zayn. -_-
The weirdest thing that EVER happened was me and Amber being added to a list of One Direction Phone Numbers...Really!?

Media preview

So, the question stands: Which do you prefer - boy bands or book boyfriends?

Experiences can make us or break us and it's no different for sixteen-year-old, Emily.

Living under the roof of her abusive Uncle, Emily is brutally attacked by a gang and wakes up from a coma with no recollection of the accident.

As the amnesia starts to clear, Emily realises that her memory is not the only thing coming back to her from the accident. There's also a wild, angry power that she has to control before it destroys her and everyone else.

So the question remains: Will Experience make her or break her? (-Goodreads)

Top Ten Books On My Autumn 2013 TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted at The Broke and The Bookish

Top Ten Books On My Autumn 2013 TBR List

1. United We Spy by Ally Carter
I'm a hard-core fan of this series, and I'm slowy coming to terms with the fact that after this book, I shall never read about Cammie, Bex, Liz or Macey again. Never. Again.*breaksdown and cries* Despite how much it pains me, I can't wait to read this book and as soon as I get home, I'm going to go buy it. In fact, since this is scheduled, I probably already have.. *crosses fingers*

2. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I've also come to realise that if I don't read this book soon, a whole host of bloggers will come upon me like a swarm of flies and....well...umm...I don't want that to happen... Also, my friend has read this, cried, and I'm sure she's going to force me to read it soon..It seems like a great book so I'm excited.

3. Allegiant by Veronica Roth
I love this series with an passion, and though I went on a rant about the title of the book, nothing is going to stop me from reading this book. As soon as it comes out. That's how I roll, and that's what is going to happen because I AM EXCITED.

4. Resist by Sarah Crossan
The first book to this series, Breathe, was a book I just happened to pick up from the library. It was a good choice. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read Resist! It's the last book in the series, so I really want to find out what happens!

5. Two Lies and a Spy by Kat Carlton
Sooo...I have a thing for Spying books and this book seems really good, which is why it's on my TBR list. It has NOTHING to do with the two guys on the cover who have made me anticipate book boyfriends... Nope. Not at all. Apart from those two, I really think this book sounds great, and I hope to read it soon!

6. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
This book has been sitting on my shelf for well as the sequel. I really want to read it, but I have LOADS of books to read! Still, I'll try and read this book really soon because it seems good! I hope I like it!

7. Variant by Robinson Wells
I think I first heard about this book from Amber @ Books of Amber who, if I'm right, really loves this book! I looked it up on Goodreads and added it to my TBR list, but it's stayed at the back of my mind nagging me to read it! Therefore, I'm taking it as a sign that I should really read this soon!

8. Angelfall by Susan Ee
This book, is the sort that loiters around my conscience telling me to read it, but I have just not got round to it yet! Me having not read this book is such a problem that Octavia @ Read. Sleep. Repeat. Is threatening to disown me and my cow...or something like that....I think I'll read it soon..!

9. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bargudo
Hmmm....I'm suppose to be the book pusher here! However Shadow & Bone has been recommended to me many times by the blogging community, but the one fangirl that stands out is Judith @ Paper Riot. Guys, if you didn't already know, she LOVES this book...which means I better get reading it because I don't want to be disowned by someone else...

10. Fire by Heather James
You have all probably heard about my unrelenting deals with Amy.. (who has been mentioned so many times on this blog YOU SHOULD KNOW WHO SHE IS). If you haven't heard of these deals...Have you been living in a hole for the last 5 months? No? I shall have to start tweeting more then... Still, since Amy has read the first to HP and is going to read The Mortal Instruments, I now have to fufill my end of the bargain..which means I shall be reading this book soon!

I hope you enjoyed this Tope Ten Tuesday! There will be more the week after next!

Bye! xx

Discussion with an Eight Year Old: Blogging

Discussion with an Eight Old is basically a discussion feature where I talk to my eight year old sister, Inês, about a certain topic. I hope you enjoy it!

Topic: Blogging

Rita: I have a blog(obviously). I absolutely love blogging and it's one of my favourite things to do and I've learnt so many things in these last few months. It's so much fun, and I love talking about books, reviewing them, and listening to all your opinions on them. Also, I get people who I can be crazy with on Twitter...!

Inês: I think it's very fun because you can make graphics. And you can talk about films and books.

Rita: *laughs*

Inês: Why are you laughing?!

Rita: Because what you said about the graphics was funny, especially since I blog about books! Anyway, what do you think about me blogging?

Inês: I think you go on Twitter too much...And you don't let me go on Minecraft because you're on the computer..

Rita: Haha! Yes, I guess.....Sorry! Back to the subject, I think blogging requires a lot of hardwork but it definitely pays off. Sure, there's a lot of stress over getting posts done, books read, and keeping to a schedule, but once you look back at the work it's something you can be proud of!

Inês: It's hard for my sister, but I'm very proud of her. (I DIDN'T PAY HER TO SAY THIS! HONEST! - Rita) ...And I'm only saying this because I'm her sister..

Rita: Thanks...

Inês: Blogging is good because you get to talk about different things and it seems fun.

Rita: Would you like to have a blog maybe? What would it be about?

Inês: I'd like to have a blog and it would be about films.

Rita: And what's your favourite film? And the one we've been to see twice already?

Inês: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Rita: I'm very proud of you.. *cries*

Inês: Thank you, Thank You..

Rita: I'm going to describe blogging one word. Hilarious. What's your word?

Inês: Awesome.

Rita: I hope you enjoyed this! It was lots of fun to do, and we shall be doing more of these, if Inês agrees...

Inês: Yes....but only if you pay me...

Rita: Not happening.

Inês: Okay...
