Vanish by Sophie Jordan

Hi awesome people,

I've just finished reading Vanish and it was awesome, I can't wait till I read Hidden (it's only out in September this year!!! Noooooo!)
Now for the review: (Spoilers will be in red)

 Title: Vanish
Author: Sophie Jordan
Series: Firelight #2
Published: September 6th 2011
No. of Pages: 294
Rating: 4 stars

An impossible romance.
Bitter rivalries.
Deadly choices.

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

My Thoughts:

I thought that Vanish was pretty awesome, with a mean cliffhanger at the end.. Why?? I can't wait till September!!

If you have read the book, you will know what twist of fate happened to Tamra, but for those who haven't I'm not going to tell you..
We pick off in the car, where Jacinda & co are escaping back to the pride, after the events of the last book.  After a brief encounter with the hunters, during which Tamra shades them (she technically makes the hunters forget what happened.)  This causes Jacinda to wonder if Will will even remember why she had to leave?
Once they get back to the pride, Jacinda is let off without a punishment because of what has happened to Tamra and the fact that she came back willingly. In my opinion, her body went back willingly but her heart and soul went by force. Now isn't that poetic?
Despite all this, Jacinda is walking on eggshells. Tamra is staying with Nidia, and her mum is slowly sinking into depression. Also, pretty much most of the pride don't trust Jacinda and she loses her job at the Library.

That is pretty much the first part of the book. Now for the other parts, Will comes into the picture. Yay!
Will has found her, and he hasn't been shaded because... I'm not telling you..
So when he sees Jacinda, he proposes a plan: Run away together.
Obviously Jacinda is slightly overwhelmed and they decide to meet again in two weeks. And it all goes horribly wrong from there.

I can't tell you anymore because of spoilers, so instead the next bit will be in red because I need to have a rant.

When Miriam finds(when I say finds, more like followed) Jacinda to the woods and then they both get captured, I was so annoyed, because then Jacinda decides to go back to the pride because she feels guilty. Then as a punishment she has to bond with Cassian!!! I was hitting the book at this stage!

Overall, I think the book was romantic, awesome and loveable... So I bid you farewell with a quote:

“I won’t let him retreat from me. We’ve come too far. I’ll fight for us even if it’s him I have to fight.”

Bye Bye!
