Everneath by Brodi Ashton

Hi everyone!

So I'm currently reading Everbound by Brodi Ashton, but since it's the 2nd book in a series, well, you would be all confuzzled (It's an awesome word) if you didn't get a review for the 1st book, so here it is:

Title: Everneath
Author: Brodi Ashton
Series: Everneath #1
Published: January 24th 2012
No. of Pages: 370
Rating: 4 stars

Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath. Now she's returned--to her old life, her family, her boyfriend--before she's banished back to the underworld . . . this time forever. She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can't find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.

Nikki longs to spend these precious months forgetting the Everneath and trying to reconnect with her boyfriend, Jack, the person most devastated by her disappearance--and the one person she loves more than anything. But there's just one problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who enticed her to the Everneath in the first place, has followed Nikki home. Cole wants to take over the throne in the underworld and is convinced Nikki is the key to making it happen. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring her back, this time as his queen.

As Nikki's time on the Surface draws to a close and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she is forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole's queen.

Everneath is a captivating story of love, loss, and immortality from debut author Brodi Ashton.

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed reading Everneath, as it was amazingly unique. It's a tale of romance and will probably make you cry in some parts.

After being taken into the Everneath, Nikki survived. She wasn't supposed to, she was supposed to grow old, but instead something, or someone kept her alive.
Now Cole, the immortal who brought her to the Everneath, wants to make her his queen, but Nikki has other ideas. You see the someone who kept her anchored is a boy, and just the image of his face makes her decide to go back to the surface, but only sixth months before the shades come and get her.

This book usually starts a chapter by telling us where Nikki is and how long she has left on the surface. Sometimes, we go back to flashbacks of the time before Nikki disappeared and we get a glimpse of her relationship with Jack (the someone who kept her alive), how she met Cole, and why she went to the Everneath (trust me, there is a reason) .

When Nikki left, everyone around her fell apart. Jack got a tattoo and a piercing, her father got bad press (he's the town's mayor) and it doesn't help that Nikki's mother died after being hit by a drunk driver before she disappeared. Nikki's reason for being back on the surface is so she can make amends with the people she left behind before she's taken back to the Everneath, and Jack is one of them. However, Nikki has a slight problem. Cole is still following her around, trying to convince her to become his queen, testing Nikki's willpower, seeing if he can convince her.

This book is truly romantic and has some roots in mythology. The relationship between Nikki and Jack is heart-warming and difficult. After Nikki comes back, the relationship is strained, with Nikki unsure how to act and what to do. Thankfully, they get back together, leading to an unexpected twist at the end...

Now onto the boys of his novel. I actually found myself really unsure of who's 'Team' I was on, however, I did find myself leaning towards Jack. You see they are both pretty hot but they are completely different characters. Jack is really sweet and truly loves Nikki but I also couldn't help liking Cole, but he was a bit possessive and stalker-ish and that is not an attractive trait..

So Overall, I really liked this book and I will leave you all with a quote:
“Stay with me, Becks. Dream of me. I am ever yours.”
― Brodi Ashton, Everneath

Bye Bye!
